“ Awesome spot to grab a beer and a bite! Very fast service, our food order was out in less than 10min despite it being a busy night. I got the carnitas tacos and they were amazing, much more dynamic than your typical nachos. Bar tender was helpful and let us sample beers and suggested which beers could be a good fit. It was quite loud here, granted it was a Saturday night. Overall I would reccomend this spot! ”
“ Try the Juicy Jay Sandwich - I will be thinking about that yummy sandwich for a while. In addition to delicious fresh beer, Legion at Plaza Midwood has an extraordinary chef. ”
“ Juicy Jay?? Can't go wrong at the home for that!! good beer stop with your dog when hanging in Midwood. ”
“ Great Beer selection, and fun Trivia nights! The food selection was tasty. We were there for my Birthday and the server introduced us to the Manager. She was so personable. When we got our Bill for dinner and 6 beers they only charged us $.01 and it said "Surprise for your Birthday"! Simply Amazing!!! I wish I did t live 9 hours away! I'd come back more often. ”
“ Super cozy brewery with friendly service and great eclectic pub grub. Stopped in unexpectedly on a chilly Friday evening and had a wonderful experience. Sat at the bar and had a fun time learning about all their different beer offerings; bartenders were fantastic and super friendly. Enjoyed a few beers, the chopped salad with chicken, a flatbread and the giant pretzel; everything was delicious and my salad was crisp and fresh. Paired nicely with the beer however I don't remember which one I had (it was comparable to a Blue Moon). Also ordered the sweet potato app/side and they were unfortunately soft, soggy and flavorless; didn't even eat them after sampling and the bartender took the item off our bill which was a very nice gesture and also added that it wasn't their most popular menu item. All in all an enjoyable experience and would definitely recommend. ”
“ Good beer and pretzels! Juicy Jay is a local hazy IPA favorite and the pretzels are made from scratch. Recommend both 10/10 The other food they serve is just ok. Looks great but taste is just ok. Maybe the more you drink the better it tastes? Haha I recently tried the Caribbean jerk pulled pork sandwich. It was ok but there were big chunks of dry meat that were a little tough. The bun was good. For $14, I wish it came with chips or something on the side. They have regular trivia on Tuesday nights and music trivia on Thursday nights. There is a small parking lot behind the building and some street parking in the front. ”
“ We love all of Legion's locations, but this one gets bonus points for being walkable from our house :) Love their beers as always (Juicy Jay and Penguin Pilsner are personal favs). Their food menu is slightly smaller than the SouthPark location's, but there are still plenty of great options for sharing snacks or a meal with friends. Service is wonderful at all their locations (including this one) as well! We especially enjoyed the pretzel with beer cheese, brussels sprouts the very flavorful Mac 'n cheese, and the dip trio! The caprese flatbread was pretty good (was expecting it to be a bit fresher) and the roasted broccoli was just a tad dry (but still tasted good). Our favorite part of the experience was sitting out on their adorable patio and enjoying the nice weather - we love having Legion in the neighb! ”
“ You can find this location of Legion Brewing at 1906 Commonwealth Ave, Charlotte, NC 28205. Parking is along the streets in spaces and wherever you can find a spot - it appeared to all be free but I'm unsure. We hit Legion after visiting Burial Brew Co across the street about a block, parking in between. This is a refurbished brick building - looks to have been some type of commercial supply with either a warehouse into a lower level or maybe light manufacturing - it still retains many of the same qualities with concrete floors and wood accents. It's very comfortable with a bar vibe. I feel like when we arrived the taproom staff didn't know what to make of us - this was our third brewery and we pretty much drank the menu at Wooden Robot and Burial before arriving so I'd imagine we were pretty loaded. After we order drinks and some food they warmed up a bit. I think this is a taproom that caters more to locals rather than to traveling beer nerds like us. While there I sampled the following beers: * General ZaraGose 4.1/5 - Pretty tasty gose with fruity citrus notes, mostly oranges and limes - a touch bright on the slightly salty finish. * Carolina Sparkle Party 3.5/5 - Fairly general lemony sour with bready notes, finishing very tart and crisp. * Juicy Jay Pineapple 4/5 - Slightly hazy bodied tart IPA with notes of pineapple, finishing hoppy with slight bitterness. * Path to the Dark Side 4/5 - Oatmeal stout with fairly dense creamy body considering the 5% ABV, notes of coffee and dark chocolate in a sweet malty backbone finishing hoppy with low bitterness. I also tried the following sharable items: * Baked Wings with a side of pickles and bleu cheese * Dip Trio - Roasted garlic hummus, house made pimento cheese, sundried tomato artichoke dip served with pita wedges * Giant Brewers Pretzel with Beer Cheese and Mustard - good sized and loved the beer cheese. As indicated service warmed up once we were seated with beers and food, overall I'd rate the experience a 4/5. ”
